For (most) leaders, the difference between a good CV and a great one is structural. A CV should feel like a well produced song... not every instrument is meant to compete for attention and it's the balance that gives it energy.
There’s a load of debate about CV length, whether it should be two or three pages. I personally don't believe the page number is what makes the difference. (Unless it’s closer to double digits!)
As the reader, what is important is how the information’s presented. A great CV has depth, easily digestible and draws attention to the right things without feeling overly busy…. anyone who has spent time with me on this will have heard me shout about the need of focal points and stepping stones.
If you're thinking about giving your CV an edge, my advice would be to start by treating it like a three dimensional space rather than a flat page. Experiment with bold, shading, italics, font size, just think about the messaging you trying to bring forward, but also push back.
Ofcourse this is just one persons opinion and everyone has their own take on what a good looks like!
